GAME 17 MVP: VINNY FIORILLO

He enjoyed another extroidinary year finishing fourth in batting with a .417 average after missing 3 games in the middle of the season due to a severe hand laceration. He was second on the team in rbis with 12 and second in walks with six. In game 17, he smacked a triple and single good for 3 rbis and scored three times, and for his excellent job on the softball diamond, Skipper Vinny Fiorillo was named Game 17 MVP.

GAME 16 MVP: GREG SAWITZKI

After a slow start, he has become the hottest hitter in the Post 701 lineup going 10 for his last 15, a .667 clip. With his triple in his first at bat vs the Mohawk Thunder, he set the single season record for triples with 5 and now is the all-time Post leader in triples with 12. For his 3 for 3 performance,Greg Sawitzki was named Game 16 MVP.

GAME 15 MVP: CHARLIE ARCHINAL

He has comeback with his bat and arm to help give the Post a run for a 2006 playoff berth. He leads the team with a .531 batting average and .676 on base percentage. The all-time Post leader in wins, he has comeback after missing the entire 2005 season with arm woes to post a 4-1 record with 28 strikeouts in 32 innings while posting a 2.63 era. He has won 52 wins in his Post career with a lifetime era of 2.02 and .218 batting average against, and for his complete game, 5 strikeout performance against the Sky View Gold, Charlie Archinal was named the Game 15 MVP.

GAME 14 MVP: DANNY AURICCHIO

He has inherited the #3 spot from his family and has kept the clutch hits "All In The Family." Danny Auricchio led the Post attack in Game 14 with a homerun, his third of the year, single, 2 runs scored and 2 rbis. He is now hitting .409 for the year with 13 runs scored and a team high 20 rbis. For his outstanding play vs Tulios, Danny was named Game 14 MVP.

GAME 13 MVP: GREG SAWITZKI

After struggling in the early part of the year, third baseman Greg Sawitzki has comeback in big time form. He belted a long triple in game 12 and was robbed of two other hits, and stayed hot vs Tumans with another triple, his team leading fourth, and a single, good for 2 rbis. For his Game 13 heroics, Greg was named game MVP.

GAME 12 MVP: CHARLIE ARCHINAL

He has comeback from an arm injury to win 3 games and lead the team in batting average. Through 12 games, Charlie Archinal is batting .577 with a .677 on base average and has 15 hits (third on the team). He has been an added plus to the pitching rotation, pitching to an era of 2.24 without a walk in 25 innings to go with 23 strikeouts. In the big game vs The Mohawks, Charlie scattered 9 hits, while giving up but 2 earned runs, and helping his own cause with 2 singles. For his clutch performance, Charlie earned Game 12 MVP honors by the Diamond Notes core of writers, that well known crew of Dewey, Cheetum, and Howe.

GAME 11 MVP: LORENZO FIORILLO

He has added a much needed jolt of youth and speed to the Post 701 roster. In addition to playing an excellent outfield, he is hitting .444 in limited duty. When rookie Lorenzo Fiorillo hit his first homerun as a Post 701 player, he earned Game 11 MVP honors by the Diamond Note scribes.

GAME 10 MVP: CHARLIE ARCHINAL

He has set all kinds of records with his arm, but almost going unnoticed is his outstanding bat. Have a career year offensively, Charlie Archinal is leading the team in batting at .619 after his 3 for 3 performance. In addition, Charlie recording his 3rd win of the year, a complete game 14-7 win over Yale St following the emotional passing of teammate John Merendo. For his outstanding game, Charlie was named Game 10 MVP.

GAME 9 MVP: MIKE DeROSE

A key off season acquistion for the Post was the arrival of veteran pitcher Mike DeRose. Joining Hap Hartig and Charlie Archinal in the rotation, Mike has been solid while compiling a 3-2 record with a 3.84 era. Mike has gotten better with every start, as attested by his 4 innings of shutout ball vs Michael's Restuarant. With that outing, Mike captured the Game 9 MVP award

GAME 8 Co-MVP: CHARLIE ARCHINAL

He suffered through arm woes in 2005 that appeared to end his pitching career. However, a strenuous off-season training program has brought back the Post all-time leader in wins and era, as Charlie Archinal returned to vintage form with a masterful 5 hit, 10 strikeout gem in an 11-0 rout of archrival DePalma's. The win was Archinal's 50th in a Post uniform, as he sports a perfect 0.00 era in 2006 with 14 stikeouts in 12 innings. For his shutout performance, Charlie was named Game 8 Co-MVP.

GAME 8 Co-MVP: RICK JOBIN

The biggest off season signing for the Post turned out to be a great one, as Rick Jobin as developed into one of the 701ers best clutch hitters. That was never more apparent than in game 8 when the team's backstop went 3 for 3 with a run scoring double and 3 run homer to cap a 5 run fifth. For his 4 rbi day, Rick was named Game 8 co-MVP.

GAME 7 MVP: HAP HARTIG

One of the most popular Post 701 players, the always reliable Hap Hartig threw 5 innings of 8 hit ball in a tough 5-4 loss to Slick's II and was named Game 7 MVP. Hap scattered 8 hits while striking out 2 in giving up only 3 earned runs. The "Hapster" is rounding into form for the stretch run as the Post looks to return to the Playoffs in 2006.

GAME 6 MVP: MATT BECK

He is the core of the Bratpack, and a career .374 hitter who is third in career hits with 146 and second in rbis with 104. When Matt Beck hit his first homerun of the year in the first inning, he moved to within five of the top Post homerun leader (Rich Auricchio) at seven. With his homerun, Matt earned Game 6 MVP honors while holding solid in 2006 with a .368 average and six rbis.

GAME 5 MVP: BOBBY LOPUCH

A career .365 hitter, this Gold Glove shortstop is enjoying an MVP year. Batting .667 with a team leading 12 hits and a .789 on base average, Bobby Lopuch captured his second Game MVP Award in the five Post 701 games. This time, he saved his best for last, meaning his last at bat, when he ripped a 2-out, 2-run game winning single to cap off a 3 for 4 day with a run scored and 2 rbis. Oh, by the way, the Gold Glover had 4 assists and 2 putouts on defense to solidify his MVP honors.

GAME 4 MVP: DANNY AURICCHIO

Argueably the best defensive player on the Post 701 roster, 20 year old Danny Auricchio is becoming a top offensive force in the Post lineup, batting in the three hole where his Dad hit for 9 years. Danny is tied for the team lead in rbis with seven after a 4 for 4 game vs Slick's Dawgs raised his average to .615. With that performance, Danny was named the Game 4 MVP.

GAME 3 MVP: BOBBY LOPUCH

A solid force at shortstop during his Post 701 career, and a solid hitter from the leadoff spot or the #2 hole, Bobby Lopuch had his first 4 hit game in his Post 701 career. Off to a great 2006 start, Lopuch went 4 for 4 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbis in leading a 14 hit Post attack. With that performance, Diamond Notes pegged Lopuch as Game 3 MVP.

GAME 2 MVP: VINNY FIORILLO

For the second game in a row, Post Manager Vinny Fiorillo had the teams biggest hit, this one, his first homerun in a 701 uniform . . . a Grand Slam. However, the homerun went for naught, as the Post lost a hearbreaker to Sky View, 11-8. Fiorillo capped a 6 run fourth inning with a 2-out homerun to deep left center. He went 2 for 3 in the game, and is hitting .600 with a team leading 7 rbis through the first two games.


GAME 1 MVP: VINNY FIORILLO

Post Skipper Vinny Fiorillo had an MVP performance in the 701ers comeback win over St. Michaels. The lifetime .332 hitter capped the 7 run comeback with a 2-out bases clearing double in the sixth inning in leading the Post to a 9-8 opening day victory. Coach Vinny went 1 for 2 in the game, scoring a run and driving in three.
